Toompea postkontor

Small, old-style post office. Very friendly staff (they speak 3 languages at least: Estonian, Russian and English), cozy atmosphere. It’s also a philatelic office so collectors and postcrosser would find here what they’re looking for. At least on the first day of issues of stamps (but maybe all year around), customers can find postmarks and air mail stickers for their correspondence. Unfortunately it closes pretty early (5 PM) and it’s closed on Saturdays, otherwise it’d be my favourite post office in Tallinn

This quirkily-old style post office is my favourite globally because it is staffed by the most kind, helpful, patient, sweet person I’ve ever found in a post office. I got her name, because she deserves this review: Jekaterina. She is consistent. I went from New Zealand to Tallinn in September 2022 and again this month, October 2023 and found her so kind and helpful both times. Her employer would be mad to let her go.

Its just a miracle something like this exists anymore. All houses in Tallinn Old Town are spectacular. Tomorrow i will try to send a postcard from there..

Vanhan ajan postitoimisto - täältä löytyy myös vanhempia postimerkkejä - euromerkkejä käyttöä varten ja kroonimerkkejä keräilyyn. Jos haluaa lähettää vaikkapa postikortin niin täällä siihen saa ihan uuden ilmeen vaikkapa kymmenen vuotta vanhalla postimerkillä .Muualla on enää yleensä vain Eestilipun tarramerkkejä. Esimerkiksi BalticKettel - arkkimerkkejä löytyi joka julkaistiin Baltian itsenäistymisen edellä ihmisketjun muodostamisen 25-vuotisjuhlan kunniaksi . Toivottavasti tämä posti säilyy ennallaan ettei tuhota postilaitosta niinkuin Suomessa on tehty.

El edificio del correo se encuentra en el sector más bonito del barrio de Toompea, ya de por si, hermoso. Las vistas y las perspectivas son incontables. Quien visite el barrio antiguo e la ciudad, en lo alto de la colina, no podrá dejar de sacar fotos del sitio.

Worst post office ever! I have sent 5 post cards, none of them got delivered! Probably the nervous lady that was bothered by the door not being closed destroyed them all.

Peter the Great stayed here when he visited Tallinn.

I am traveling and had collected a lot of souvenirs, and I needed to lighten my backpack so I had 3 good sized boxes to send to the USA. The process was a little bit complicated for me because I only speak English, and the forms are in Estonian. Katrina helped me understand how to properly fill them out after I made a mistake on my first try. There were people waiting behind me (everyone in line was also very friendly) and Katrina stayed cool & calm while she worked quickly & efficiently to get all of the shipping and customs labels created for my packages. It was a lot of work for her but she was kind and smiled genuinely throughout the experience. Being a foreigner and trying to do this type of thing can be intimidating, but with Katrina’s help, it was smooth and easy. I was very grateful to have her helping me today! Thanks Katrina! :)
